DATA THROUGH 23 JUL 2026

How the record is assembled.

ShootSG is an unofficial archive built from published competition documents. This page explains how records are transcribed, grouped, ranked and corrected so every derived view can be interpreted consistently.

01

Sources and transcription

Results are transcribed from published start lists and score sheets. The archive retains competition date, event, division, athlete, club, six series, total, inner tens and official placement when those fields appear in the source.

Air Rifle scores are displayed to one decimal place, including trailing zeroes. Air Pistol inner tens are displayed after the total, such as 530-8x.

02

Competition grouping

Domestic results with the same competition name held within seven days are currently treated as one competition. This joins multi-day programmes without merging competitions across calendar years. International results use the competition ID supplied by the source dataset instead of this heuristic.

Singapore Cups are given display-only sequence numbers by distinct calendar month in chronological order within each year. Multiple Singapore Cups held in the same month share the same number; the sequence advances with the next month containing a Singapore Cup, resets every calendar year and does not alter the underlying source name.

03

Rankings

The rating basis can be set to a shooter's best two, three, four or five qualifying scores. The selected number is also the minimum starts required within the chosen event, division scope, country and period. Ratings measure peak performance across the selected number of starts rather than consistency across every start.

Equal ratings share the same rank. The following position skips accordingly: 1, 2, 2, 4. Rankings are calculated by this archive and are not official federation rankings.

04

Club associations

Club codes are ordered by the dates on which they appear in score sheets. Rankings show the most recent meaningful transition recorded within the selected period, with the latest club last—for example SSP → NT. Shooter profiles show distinct lifetime affiliations with the current club placed last.

05

Comparison

Compare ignores gender so shooters can be assessed across Men and Women within the same discipline and division. It never compares Air Pistol scores with Air Rifle scores.

When two shooters are selected, the page chooses their most frequently represented shared discipline and division. If frequencies tie, Open is preferred, followed by the scope containing the most recent result. Summary measures, series distributions and shared competitions use that selected division. The combined Career Trajectory is the exception: it includes every result for both shooters in the selected discipline across all divisions. If no discipline is shared, no comparison is shown.

06

Divisions and special classifications

Open, MQS, SDSC and other classifications remain separate. SDSC means Singapore Disability Shooting Club: when a result records SDSC as the event-time club, that result is classified as SDSC even if the published table combines it with Open or MQS. Results where the same shooter represents another club retain the official category. The Rankings page can combine every available division, or combine only the school groupings Y12, Y14, A Division, B Division and C Division. Missing classifications are not inferred from score alone.

07

Identity and corrections

Shooter identities are consolidated only when the evidence supports that records belong to the same person. Original score-sheet text is retained in the master data where available so corrections remain traceable.

08

International results

Major Games—SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games—use full 10 m, 25 m and 50 m fields regardless of Singapore participation when a results book is supplied. The current full-book coverage comprises the 2023 Asian Games, 2025 SEA Games and 2026 Asian Games. Other international competition scopes are unchanged.

From 2023 onward, published individual 10 m finals using the conventional 24-shot, two-stage format are also included. Official ranks, individual shots, running totals, elimination blanks and remarks are retained from each source table. Finals are informational and do not affect rankings, averages, Compare or Visualise.

Only reviewed Singapore identities connect to ShootSG profiles. International peers remain visible without receiving domestic Shooter IDs. The competition source panels retain teams, mixed teams, Running Target and status records with their printed ranks, totals and source detail. Source discrepancies and unknown values remain flagged. Shotgun is outside this 10m/25m/50m intake.

The homepage Published Results counter adds individual 10m qualifications, 25m/50m phase records and additional Major Games 10m source entries. It is a count of archive entries across different formats, not a pooled statistical sample. The separate individual 10m finals archive is excluded from that counter. Qualification calculations retain their event, format, phase, status and identity checks.

09

Use of ChatGPT

ChatGPT was used as an assisting tool to help structure published results, identify possible inconsistencies, develop validation checks, and build and test the website. Published source documents and the reviewed master records remain the basis of the archive; potential data issues are checked against available source evidence before approved corrections are made.
